FLAG Secretariat
Welcome to the FLAG Secretariat's web page
The Flexible Learning Advisory Group Secretariat (FLAG Secretariat) is responsible, and accountable to the Chair of FLAG, for supporting FLAG in the fulfilment of FLAG’s role as the National Senior Official Committee's (NSOC) national advisory body on e-learning.
The Secretariat has the responsibility for the executive support function for FLAG and its working groups, including meeting planning, implementation of FLAG decisions, management of annual strategic review and planning processes, stakeholder communications, provision of research on issues, preparation of accountability reports to the NSOC and management of strategic evaluation activities for the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework). The Secretariat also ensures that VET system interests are promoted through the Australian Information and Communications Technology in Education Committee (AICTEC).
Flexible Learning Advisory Group
The Flexible Learning Advisory Group (FLAG) is an advisory group of the National Senior Officials Committee (NSOC). It was established in 1996 as the key policy advisory group on national directions and priorities for information and communication technologies (ICT) in vocational education and training system (VET) and Adult and Community Education (ACE).
FLAG leads the collaborative development and sustained provision of essential national ICT infrastructure; evaluates and provides advice on emerging technological opportunities; and facilitates access to e-learning products and practices that enable an innovative, flexible and responsive national training system.
FLAG agreed to locate the FLAG secretariat at TVET Australia. Co-location with other national secretariats including the National Quality Council, the National VET Equity Advisory Council and the National Industry Skill Council presents opportunities for business synergies to advance the goals of the national training system.
